James
Physics, Maths, 11+, 13+, GCSE, A Level
I have been teaching at Reed’s School for 14 years, and am an integral member of a busy and successful department. Qualifying through the GTP scheme, I have experience of teaching Physics at GCSE and A Level, Electronics at GCSE, and the Junior Science curriculum. Additionally, I have taught Mathematics to Year 7 and 8 pupils. I have also worked as a GCSE examiner for Edexcel, ensuring that I am fully aware of the demands of the syllabus and able to impart strong examination technique guidance in preparation for external assessments.
Having graduated from Exeter University with a Masters in Engineering, my field-hockey career took me to two Olympic Games (Sydney and Athens), two Commonwealth Games (Kuala Lumpur and Manchester), and two World Cups and two European Championships. The highlight being a bronze medal in KL!
Before teaching, and around being a full-time athlete, I have worked in industry as a Project Manager in Marketing and, laterally, I enjoyed a strategic role within SAP Global Marketing’s Sports Sponsorship Division.
