PSYCHOLOGY, A LEVELS

I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Psychology at Cardiff University on a Master’s Excellence Scholarship, having previously earned a BA in Human, Social, and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge. I have nearly 150 hours of Psychology A Level tutoring experience and achieved an A* in Psychology (AQA) myself. My other A Levels were in Chemistry and History.

Alongside my studies, I work as a Mental Health Support Worker and will soon begin a placement as an Honorary Assistant Psychologist. I am working towards a career in Clinical Psychology.

Teaching Experience

With close to 150 hours of Psychology A Level tutoring under my belt, I’ve helped all of my students make clear and measurable progress. One student improved by two grades in just six months, exceeding their target and gaining a place at their first-choice university. Another went from a B to an A in just eight sessions. I’ve received consistently positive feedback from both students and parents.

I am passionate about learning, particularly in subjects focused on understanding people. My tutoring approach is student-led: I tailor sessions based on individual needs and focus on consolidating knowledge rather than introducing brand-new material. I often set homework between sessions so that we can use lesson time to review answers, tackle misconceptions, and provide structured feedback. This also gives students a chance to practise different question types, such as ‘evaluate’, ‘outline’, and application-based responses.

I aim to make lessons engaging and memorable. I start each session by reviewing the syllabus, so students understand where we are within the wider course, and I use creative tools (including the occasional psychology meme!) to help break down complex concepts. Lessons are interactive, supportive, and adapted to suit each learner’s pace and confidence.

Interests

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy watching documentaries, attending music events (I’m trained in radio production), travelling, and keeping up with yoga whenever I can.
