Amit

I grew up in South-West London where I went to St James Independent School and studied Maths, Physics and Chemistry for A-Level.  From there, I went on to achieve a 2:1 BSc degree in Mathematics at Lancaster University in 2003, during which I studied at The University of Maryland, USA. I went on to complete my Postgraduate certification in teaching in 2006.  I have enjoyed a fruitful career in primary education ever since specialising in Mathematics and PE, and taking on Assistant Headships with responsibilities in curriculum development and assessment.

Teaching Experience

I have over 15 years’ experience in education, specialising in Maths teaching and preparing pupils for 11+ entrance exams for schools such as Emanuel, St Paul’s and Whitgift.  I have taught children of all abilities, from many diverse backgrounds and have a passion for getting the very best out of them and instilling a love for learning.  My experience in senior leadership has given me responsibility for delivering professional development for teachers to improve pupil outcomes and develop Teaching and Learning.  Throughout the lockdown months of 2020 and 2021, I delivered effective online teaching to classes, small groups and individuals.  An adaptable tutor, I also have extensive experience tutoring in-person.
