I graduated from Hatfield College, Durham University, with a high 2:1 in BA English Literature, completed my PGCE (Secondary English) at Canterbury Christ Church University and my MA in Educational Leadership at UCL, Institute of Education, graduating with a distinction in both. I am currently completing my National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination at UCL. 

After completing Teach First’s Leadership Development Programme, one of the UK’s most competitive graduate schemes,  I now teach English across the ability range at an outstanding North London Academy from KS3-4 and try to share my enthusiasm for my subject with each student whilst employing a range of pedagogies to maximise attainment.  

I strive for equity in my classroom and am a proponent of inclusive practice. I have developed strategies to work with dyslexic, autistic and early stage EAL learners, as well as those with speech, language and communication needs. In addition, I have extensive experience successfully preparing students for some of London’s most competitive day and boarding schools at both 11+ and 13+, and have supported A-Level English students with preparation for examinations and coursework, as well as for Oxbridge admissions interviews. I have also taught Exceptional Academics English and Verbal Reasoning exam booster and half-term courses.
